Applicants for certain occupations and professions, especially those involving contact with children or vulnerable adults, should be the subject of a Disclosure regarding any criminal records they may have. Disclosures may also be appropriate for persons entering occupations such as legal or accountancy professions. The Disclosure process has replaced the previous system which involved checks directly with the Police. If you are an employer or organisation which is entitled to ask exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act then, in its capacity as an Umbrella Body, Bastille is authorised to process checks via the CRB on your behalf. The Disclosure process requires careful screening of persons to establish and verify their identity prior to submission of a request for a criminal record check. For those employers who are not entitled to use the services of a Registered Body for checks via the CRB, we offer a full vetting service which can be tailored to suit specific needs.
